How To Un-X-Rate Yourself

How Could This Have Happened?

I don't know how this occurred because I can't see X sites (which is a good thing to set in Preferences if you ever stumble on the job, ahem.)

However, I have been flagged as "Adult" in the past (more than once). This is so not true!

Amazingly, it is possible to be flagged X even though you yourself do not see X. This can happen because some pages are mistagged, either intentionally, or by accident. And the system automatically automatically tags even academic papers that deal with adult-rated subjects as being adult. (Do a google search on "Susan Griffin" and "women" and see some of the titles of her books and papers).

You can become "R" when you subscribe to adult-topics in Preferences or when someone reports to the feedback that your page contains nudity. To be "X" requires a serious effort, such as full frontal nudity. But ultimately, the devs decide and that's a judgement call. They are not prissy tea-sippers so it requires an effort to become X.

I don't know if reviewing an X-rated stumbler sets you to X. Spotrunner's review that I am reviewing in these instructions is itself a review of an X stumbler. But I do not think the content is X so it must be the tags.

How To Come Back From X or R

Here are the steps as best I know them to return from the Land of X. Thanks to ElleDark and Etcetera who helped me solve this twice now.

1. Go to Personal Information page in your Preferences. Look for the Favorites dropdown box. Choose "Show Only Non-Adult Favorites". Then click on "Save My Preferences".

2. Change to your account name in this URL: "http://account_name.stumbleupon.com/tag/pron/" Then change reverse the "r" and the "o" in the last word. (It was necessary to do this or this post would have been flagged "adult")

3. Do the same thing with the "sex".

4. Remove all the nude photos from your pages.

5. Make sure you are not subscribed in any "adult" topics in your Preferences.

6. Go to "http://www.stumbleupon.com/adult.php?stumbler=account_name" (Change the account_name) and choose "suitable for all" from the dropdown box.
