Can we chat?
Short answer: Probably not.
Long answer: As you see in my Profile, I am a bookish and introverted person. Extraverted people get their energy from others. Introverts need to recharge their energies by being alone. Extraverts are energized by chatting in coffee shops and on Stumbleupon. I do not. No matter how much I like someone, I find these conversations draining, even when I enjoy them. If I have something worth saying, I usually say it on my pages.
So I am not a good candidate for long private chats, here or elsewhere.
On the other hand, Vishnu, I will usually respond [politely] to private messages. I have my Preferences set to accept messages from everyone most of the time. I will occasionally set them to "Accept messages from friends only" but that is only when I am getting a lot of unwanted messages.
I am happy to answer private messages that ask a specific question of a non-personal nature. (I do not answer personal questions; I ignore them.) So if you need help getting started on SU or how to solve an issue here, or something else you think I might know, I really will respond to those. I may not be able to respond immediately.
