Don't let love fool you; It's not my first love.
Truth rocks my world, from below and above. ~XineAnn

Thinking is more interesting than knowing, but less interesting than looking. ~Goethe

For experience is the Soul's one and only nourishment ~James Hillman

Le coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne connaît point. ~Blaise Pascal

He who has lost his soul will be finding God anywhere, up above and down below, in here and out there, he will cling to every straw of love blown past his doorway as he stands waiting for a sign. ~James Hillman

Promoting Your Website

Unlike some other people on SU, I do not mind someone using their SU pages to promote their blog or personal website. Many people have a home business as well as a job and often we need that to make ends meet.

If you want to promote your own web page, you can add a link to it in your Profile. You can find examples of how to add links here: mr-helpful. You also list it under "Top Picks" in your profile and as your website.

When I visit a stumbler for the first time, I usually read their Profile and look at their Top Picks.

I have done business a few times with stumblers who have discreetly made their own business available on their pages. And written good reviews of them after. I like being able to do business with individual crafts people, and to have an alternative to large chain stores that dominate the web.

No Spam

It is not okay to submit every single page of your website to the database by clicking "I like it" and adding a review to your page. This is spam. If your page is nothing but links to various commercial sites with the same domain, it will eventually be flagged as spam and the devs will remove the account.

It is spam to "review" a website by adding an advertisement for your own website as bradystory has done in reviewing this page: spam review. When I see this, I always thumbs down the person who did this and report it as spam.

It is spam to private message someone and ask them to visit your website and write a review. It is even more spam to do this by just pasting a url in a private message. At least, kiss me first.

If you spam me and ask for a review, it had better be a good website that offers a real service that someone should want. If it has a half a dozen popups, misspellings, and broken links, contains no content but is a bunch of feeder links to something else, I will thumbs it down and write it a bad review.
