Can I add you to my friends?
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: On Stumbleupon right now, a friend really means "subscriber". New posts of your friends appears in your "What's New" tab. There is a limit on how many friends you can have.
There is also a problem with "ghosts". Due to a known bug, someone who leaves SU suddenly, leaves a "ghost" in the friends list of everyone who friended her. This reduces your number of friends because you cannot delete the ghost.
I have two kinds of friends here. Friends who are friends in the traditional meaning, and friends I wish to subscribe to. Every so often I go through and spring clean out blogs where the user has not logged in or doesn't post, or just when my interests have changed. It is nothing personal (unless you've been a jerk, in which case, you should take it personally. But this is rare.)
